Dele Alli extends Tottenham contract

England international Dele Alli has signed a new deal at Tottenham that will keep him at White Hart Lane until 2022.

Alli who has become a huge influence in the Spurs set-up becomes the latest star in the number of players to commit their future to Spurs in recent weeks, with Christian Eriksen, Eric Dier, Harry Winks and Tom Carroll already signed, while Danny Rose, Jan Vertonghen and Erik Lamela are all also reportedly in talks over new deals.

Alli made an instant impact at White Hart Lane last season having joined in a £5m deal from MK Dons.

The 20-year old went on to score 10 goals from a midfield postion and struck up an effective partnership with Harry Kane as Mauricio Pochettino’s side finished third in the Premier League.

His achievements did not go unnoticed as he picked up the PFA Young Player of the Year award and was named in the PFA Premier League Team of the Year.

Alli who also scooped the Match of the Day Goal of the Season prize for his spectacular volley against Crystal Palace in January has since passed the 50-appearance mark for us in all competitions and scored his 11th goal for the Club in last weekend’s 4-0 win against Stoke City.

The Nigerian by birth youngster made his full England debut in October, 2015, and has since won 12 caps and scored one goal for his country.
