The Premier League have kicked off in sumptuous end eye
catching manner with some interesting results as we look forward to the Premier
League clash between London side Chelsea FC and West Ham United.

With the
presence of star players like Eden Hazard, Pedro Rodriguez ,Cesc Fabregas and
John Terry, there is no hiding the fact that the Chelsea fateful are really
very much expectant. The West Ham side are really not a push over in any way as
they have the likes of Andy Carroll, Dimitri Payet to bank on coupled with the
signing of impressive Ghanaian international talent Andre Ayew who Chelsea must
be wary of bearing in mind his impact against Chelsea last season in the
opening game with Swansea City as the blues drew 2-2 at Stamford Bridge.

On
this note we evaluate what to expect from the Antonio Conte”s Chelsea side
against West ham United.

WIN FIRST HOME (OPENING) GAME

The Chelsea hierarchy as well as the fans all around the
world would definitely demand one thing from the Chelsea side today which is a
win against West Ham United. It is a London derby and that’s what makes it
(Chelsea VS. West Ham) and the Premier league itself Interesting and this
fixture is certainly not an exception.

The Stamford Bridge fans can’t just wait
with their ticket intact ahead of the Kick off as all eyes and reviews are
drawing towards a Chelsea win tonight and Conte must deliver as there is no
hiding place at Stamford Bridge. The Chelsea fans last year drew with Swansea
City (Welsh side) 2-2 with the influence of Andre Ayew and even with the
availability of the Ghanaian for the clash, which promises to be electrifying,
as the Chelsea fans are not going to entertain anything less than victory.

A CLEAN SHEET

The Chelsea football club today is a product of an
architectural pattern outlined by Claudio Ranieri and particularly Jose
Mourinho tactical approach to games which is embedded in cohesive defending and
strong midfield connotation (the Lampard, Essien and Makalele combination)
which ensures that Chelsea is difficult to break down in transition. This style
had been upheld by several managers who have held sway at Stamford Bridge at
one point in time.

The talismanic Carlo Ancelotti adopted this formula and was
able to deliver the Premier league title and FA cup trophy (with a midfield
three of Lampard, Essien and the ever present and reliable John Obi Mikel) in
the three man midfield machine. Such is expected of Conte to keep the positive
tradition on going with efficiency as Chelsea fans will want a clean sheet bearing
in mind the trio of John Terry, Branislav Ivanovic and the ever reliable and devoted
Caesar Azipilicueta.

FORMATION STRUCTURE

The move of Italian manager Antonio Conte have been of somewhat
interest particularly as regards to the system and formation dynamics the
manager would employ at the bridge. With the Italian utilizing the likes of
3-5-2 formation and switching to different formation in the course of a game
most eyes will be expecting to know what formation the 47years old Italian will
be utilizing against West Ham.

At Juventus where the manager won the SERIE A
Coach of the year award, he used the 3-5-2 system efficiently which is very
common and typical because of the defensive trio of Leonardo Bonucci, Andreas Barzagli
and the main man Giorgio Chiellini at the heart of the defence. Fortunately the
manager utilized those three men at the back as they are all Italians but it is
left to be seen how Chelsea will line up at the back and in the midfield
position to suit Conte’s formation structure and team dynamics when the game is
set for kick-off at Stamford Bridge.
