Manchester City boss, Pep Guardiola has yet again demonstrated that he has firm believe in the potentials of his Nigerian striker, Kelechi Iheanacho.
Guardiola who helped sanction a new two-year deal for Iheanacho stated that among other things, he likes the alertness of the 2013 FIFA U-17 World Cup; adding that 19-year old is a perfect back-up for Argentine goal machine, Sergio Aguero.
“He is always ready,” Guardiola said of Iheanacho according to UK Telegraph.
“We will need him. Sergio can’t play all season and Kelli is going to play. That’s why we saw Sergio was a little bit tired after playing four days ago and the travel (in the Champions League qualifier).
“He [Iheanacho] kept the ball and made some very nice assists. We can’t achieve anything with just 11or 12 players. We need everybody and I hope they realise that.
“Of course I have to decide and there are moments during the season where players are on top, are down and when that happens they will sit down beside me and we will play the players in better condition.”
Iheanacho was the supplier of Nolito’s first goal in the Premier League and City’s third in their 4-1 demolition of Stoke City over the weekend .
