The League Management Company (LMC) has imposed fine of N3.5 on Lagos club, Ikorodu United, following the crowd trouble in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) match-day 30 fixture against Shooting Stars Sports Club of Ibadan at the Onikan Stadium in Lagos.
The LMC in its decision also banished the relegation troubled-side to the Moshood Abiola Stadium in Abeokuta. The LMC also ruled that the match will be counted as a completed fixture.
The referee stopped proceedings in the 89th minute after the home crowd threw objects into the pitch, showing their displeasure over Ajani Ibrahim’s equalizing goal that registered the Oluyole Warriors’ equalizer, leaving the score-line at 1-1 with less than two minutes before stoppage time.
According to the ruling, Ikorodu United are expected to play their next three home matches in the NPFL at the MKO Abiola Stadium in Abeokuta. Meanwhile, the Oga Boys have until 5pm on Fridayto appeal the LMC verdict.
