Europe Wrap: Jordon Ibe, Yusuf Otubanjo score as Ola Aina and Victor Moses feature for club

Another weekend of football action in Europe saw various club sides face each other in different competitions ranging from the Pre-season games, International Champions Cup in North America to different Leagues and Cup matches across Europe.


In these games across Europe we capture the impact of Nigerian players abroad who features for their respective teams and those who made the bench for their clubs. On this note we recap the performance of these Nigerian players in action across Europe.

IN BELGIUM

Nigerian attacking duo of Imoh Ezekiel (out due to Olympic engagement) and Stefano Chuka Okaka was missing in action for Anderlecht in their 2-1 away win over Royal Excel Mouscron.
AS Eupen striker Henry Chukwuemka  Onyekuru(18) lasted the distance but could not save his side Eupen FC as they lost 3-0 to Belgium side and host Zulte-Waregem.Chuks Aneke of Zulte-Waregem was not listed in Zulte-Waregem match day squad.

INTERNATIONAL-CLUB FRIENDLIES

AFC Bournemouth new signing Jordon Ibe belled the cat with a goal in the 12th minute as it proved to be the winner with Bournemouth defeating English side Cardiff City 1-0.

INTERNATIONAL-CHAMPIONS CUP

Celtic defender Efe Ambrose scored an own goal against his side to give Barcelona a 2-1 lead and he was substituted in the 63rd minute by Jamie Mc Cart as Barcelona won 3-1 against Celtic.


Victor Moses came on in the second half to replace Bertrand Traore in the 76 minute while young Anglo- Nigerian defender Ola Aina (19+) lasted the entire duration of the game with Fikayo Tomori rooted on the bench as their Chelsea side lost 3-2 to Real Madrid following a fight back from Eden Hazard (who scored a brace in the 80th and 90 minute of the game).


In the Liverpool VS. AC Milan match Sheyi Ojo came on at 62 minutes of the game to replace James Milner while talented youngster Ovie Ejaria was not listed in Liverpool match day Squad as Liverpool defeated AC Milan 2-0 on the night.
Ahmed Musa came on a minute after the intermission to replace Japan’s Shinji Okazaki as his side Leicester City lost 0-4 to Paris Saint Germain (PSG).

IN NORWAY

Fredrikstad TC forward Akinsola Akinyemi came on to replace Magne Simonsen just at the hour mark while Mjoendalen FC midfield player Kingsley Ndidi Olie was on the bench for the entire duration of the game.

IN SWEDEN

Ugonna Anyaora was not listed for Assyriska FF as they defeated Aatvidaberg 4-0.
Oke Akpoveta lasted the entire duration of the game as his side Dalkurd FF drew (0-0) goalless with Trelloborgs FC.
Nigerian forward Moses Derick Ogbu lasted 69 minutes of the game and was replaced by Ante Bjoerkebaum as his side Sirius FC defeated host Aengelholms FF 2-0 on the night.

IN SLOVAKIA

Fc Zilina forward Yusuf Otubanjo scored a brace in the 37 and 51st minute for his side as they defeated Tatran Presov 4-0.Otubanjo lasted 77minutes and was replaced by substitute Kristian Vallo.
Trencin Christopher Udeh was sent off in the 19th minutes while teammatesSamuel Kalu lasted the distance .Alike Bala was substituted by Jeffrey Ket in the 61st minute while Rabiu Ibrahim was not listed in match day squad as well as Kingsley Madu who is on an assignment with the RIO Olympic Team.
