Dream Team Lands In Lagos After Rio Olympics Bronze

Nigeria’s U-23 team landed in Lagos on Monday after winning bronze in the men’s football event of the Rio 2016 Olympic Games in Brazil.

The Nigerian team defeated Honduras 3-2 to win the country’s only medal at the Summer Olympics football event. Most of the players did not return with the team as they joined-up with their respective clubs in Europe.

But players like Stanley Amuzie, Saliu Popoola, striker Junior Ajayi, goalkeeper Emmanuel Daniel and Coach Samson Siasia who is planning to embark on vacation to see his family in the United States touched down at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos on Monday night.

With the bronze medal feat in Rio, Nigeria have won all the three Olympic medals in football, after winning gold 20 years-ago in Atlanta and silver at the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games in China.
