Chukwuma Descries Loss Against Prime

By Akanni Seyi

The Head Coach of NNL side Delta Force FC Clifford Chukwuma has spoken in dismay against the outcome of the week 10 NNL game between his side and the home team Prime FC.

Prime FC started the encounter on a front foot. Omoluabi Giant huffed and puffed for most part of the first half, while Delta Force FC defended strongly and tiredlessly to curtail the resilence of the likes of Victor Okeji, Ibukun Ojo, Adeyemi Adeyeye and midfield marshal Hakeem Olalere.

With Prime FC desperate to register an opener, Prime FC gaffer Shina Afolabi brought on Damola Fakayode (11) for Ibukun Ojo (7) in order to add the bite to the attack of the home side. Finally, Osogbo fans were thrown into wild jubilation in 36th minute of the encounter, when Olabisi Olagunju’s well tailored cross was brilliantly nodded past the goal line by ever reliable Adeyemi Adeyeye (12). Prime FC ended the first part with a goal up.

Delta force were unarguably charged up at the break and their forward line were clinical in the final third at the resumption of the second half. Three minute after the restart, Prime’s defenders have themselves to blame when Delta Force point man Obi Samson (9) was set up  and raced past three Prime FC defenders to slot home an equalizer.

Adeyemi Adeyeye took his goal tally to five in this term, the center referee Giwa Miuz from Lagos pointed to the spot as Nworie Fabian (6), handles the ball in the box. The former Crown FC and Remo Stars FC Adeyeye forcefully sent Delta Force goal tender Isah (28) in wrong direction from the spot.

The 62nd minute goal was enough to earn Prime FC the maximum three points on saturday.

Speaking after the game that was characterized with a lot of scary moments towards the tale end of the second half, Delta Force FC head coach Clifford Chukwuma was outrightly dismayed with the kind of penalty awarded the home side.

“Its unfortunate, l don’t think we can go forward with this kind of officiating, you can see that it wasn’t a foul “

“I don’t know how much referees were being paid, but they have to be paid properly for them to officiate properly and we have to watch and drag out those who officiate badly because they are killing the game.”

“You could see in the whole of last month, three to four referees were beaten, so many games have been abandoned, not because of players, but just because of referees,” Coach Clifford lamented.

In a counter opinion, Prime FC gaffer Shina Afolabi nodded the judgement of the referee in signalling the foul by Delta Force FC’s  Fabian in the box.

“I can’t complain because referee has done the right thing in sighting and signalling the hand ball in the box”.

Prime FC and Delta Force FC were both tied on 15points on the log.Believe and Achieve gladiators will this weekend welcome the league leader Remo Stars to Osogbo township stadium in another crucial cracker.
