CAF Champions League: Zamalek Hosts Enyimba In A Must Win Game For The People’s Elephant

By Timothy Dehinbo

The Cairo International stadium with a capacity of over 74000 fans
welcomes Enyimba FC of Aba for a game that is a must win for Enyimba,
but for Zamalek of Egypt,a draw would be enough to make the Egyptian
side progress to the Semi finals of the competition.

Mohammed Helmi’s
side were victorious at their last game against Al Ahly in the Egyptian
League cup which they won 3 goals to 1 on Monday.

The first leg win against Enyimba  for Zamalek is the only game they
have gathered points. They won the first leg 1 nil at Port Harcourt with
Bassim Morsi getting the only goal in the eight minutes of the game. The
game remained that way till the end.

Enyimba has disappointed lot of   fans this season in the NPFL with them
placed seventh in their league. But for Enyimba to stand a chance of
progressing in the competition, they need to get a win at Egypt against
Zamalek. Their last game in the competition was against Mamelodi Sundown
of Africa which they lost 2 1.

Enyimba would have to drop their current league form when they face
Zamalek on Saturday evening, their last league game was a disappointing
result for the fans at Port Harcourt which they drew 1 all with Sunshine
stars. Statistics show that Enyimba are good at getting results in
Egypt, but some of their fans would doubt them winning this game, due to
their recent form. Enyimba arrived Egypt on Thursday not with the whole
squad, but players like Captain Chinedu Udoji,Joseph Osadiaye, Chima
Akas,Dare Ojo and Goal Keeper Theo Afelokhai later joined up with the
rest of the team coming from the NPFL all stars carranza tournament in
Spain.

PREDICTION: ZAMALEK 1 ENYIMBA 2
