By Augustine Akhilomen
Mountain
Of Fire Miracles Ministry won the bragging right as they defeated bottom rocked
Ikorodu United 3-1 at the Agege Township Stadium in Sunday’s Lagos derby in the
Nigeria Football Professional Football League.
Sikiru
Olatunbosun gave the hosts the opening goal in the 13th minute as he capitalized
on Ikorodu goalkeeper Fatunwase’s blunder in the 18-yard box. The away team
leveled score in the 21st minutes thanks to Fata Abdullahi’s goal from the spot
kick.
However,
Stephen Odey inspired MFM FC to win the Lagos derby against Ikorodu United 3-1.
The
young striker’s netted after 69 minutes, before Ifeanyi Ifeanyi tucked away a
penalty to give MFM all three points at the expense of their struggling city
rivals.
Interestingly,
Lagos State Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode was at the Stadium to cheer the two
Lagos based teams and what was left with nothing less but the best of football
at its artistry.
