Leicester City will sign CSKA Moscow’s Ahmed Musa as early as next week, according to reports emanating from Russia, with the Nigerian international having been on the Foxes’ radar since the turn of the year.
However, Musa had previously knocked Leicester City back, claiming that it was his dream to play for Arsenal.
A matter of months later, and the deal seems to be back on, with Claudio Ranieri’s side set to splash out around £16 million (N6 billion) for the 23-year-old.
Musa’s agent claimed that a potential move to West Ham is definitely off the cards, but talks were being finalised with a Premier League club.
“[We’re] finalising talks with a Premier League club, but it’s not West Ham. I was frankly surprised by this rumour. Yes, he’s coming to England, but Musa’s not joining West Ham,” he tweeted.
According to Rossiyskaya Gazeta, Musa will fly to Leicester on Tuesday for a medical with a finalised transfer expected to be completed in the days following.
Musa plays primarily as a winger but can also be utilised across the front-line and midfield, known for his unrivalled pace and trickery, his combination with the likes of Jamie Vardy and Riyad Mahrez will certainly be something to look out for as the Foxes look to build on the success of last season.
The Foxes target enjoyed a prolific season for CSKA Moscow last year, scoring 17 goals in 40 appearances as CSKA went on to win the Russian Premier League by two points.
