Kelechi Iheanacho has now been included in the Manchester City pre-season tour squad, after initially being omitted.
The 19-year old was surprisingly left out of Pep Guardiola’s 32-man
squad for the trips to Germany and China, raising eyebrows if the
youngster have any future at the club or whether they had eventually
decided to allow him represent Nigeria at the Olympic Games.
It has however now been revealed that visa issues were behind the reason to omit him from the initial squad.
Iheanacho is expected to play a starring role for City in the coming
season, following his impressive debut campaign last term, where he
scored 14 goals after mainly coming off the bench.
He has now travelled with the rest of the squad first to Germany
ahead of the pre-season friendly game against Guardiola’s former side
Bayern Munich, and then to China, where they will play Borussia Dortmund
and city rivals Manchester United.
