Coach of the Nigeria U-23 team Samson Siasia has
confirmed that he was robbed in Atlanta, Georgia, where the Dream Team
VI heading to next month’s Olympic Games in Rio are at moment rounding
off their preparations.
Siasia who is still been owed backlog of salaries by the Nigeria
football Federation said his car was burgled and items were carted away.
“It is true that my car was burgled but I have taken the necessary
steps on the item stolen in the car,” Siasia was quoted as saying on
Africanfootball.com
“We are focused and preparing hard for the Olympics that is what I can tell you for now.”
It is understood that the car Siasia has been using to run around for
the team was broken into at the team’s hotel’s car park and his credit
cards, two phones, the phone of his personal assistant Abu and some
money were taken away.
The Dream Team VI are meant to round-off their preparations for the
Rio Games with a final test game against Honduras Olympic team on
Tuesday before they depart for Brazil on Friday.
