OFFICIAL: Alex Song joins Rubin Kazan, Halilovic joins Hamburg

Alex Song joins Rubin Kazan
FC Barcelona players Alex Song and Alen Halilovic have both left the club to join Rubin Kazan and HSV Hamburg respectively.
Barça agreed a deal with Rubin Kazan for the transfer of Alex Song, and the Cameroonian midfielder will join the Russian club on a free transfer despite still having one year left in his contract.
The Russian outfit took to their official twitter account to announce the player’s arrival with a statement reading: “FC Rubin reports on achieving the arrival of Alexander Song to the Kazan club.”
Details on the transfer are still unclear and it is unknown if it will be on a permanent deal or a loan deal. The midfielder is already in Russia and will undergo medical before officially putting pen to paper.
Alex Song joined FC Barcelona from Arsenal in 2012 for €15 million after a wonderful season with the North Londoners. The midfielder couldn’t replicate his form for the Azulgranas but managed to win one La Liga title and one Super Cup. He was then loaned out to West Ham where he spent the last two seasons.
A host of other clubs were interested in signing Song but Rubin Kazan has won the race. Reports stated that Galatasaray were strongly interested in bringing him to Turkey but his high wage demands led to the failure of the transfer.

HALILOVIC JOINS HAMBURG

Aside from Alex Song, Alen Halilovic has also left FC Barcelona this summer and will join German outfit HSV Hamburg after the club confirmed the deal via their official twitter page.

Reports suggest Halilovic will sign for Hamburg for a fee around €5 million on a 4-year deal with the Catalan club including a buy-back option in the contract. The buy-back option stipulates that FC Barcelona can get the player back for €10 million next year and €12.5 million if they decide to sign him again in 2018.
Halilovic spent last season on loan at Sporting Gijon and was one of their best players. Barça believe he is a star for the future and are treating him with utmost care. They believe staying at Barça will hamper his development as he will have limited playing time to they want him to grow as a player in Germany.
