Yobo’s Presence In NPFL Will Be Great – Dosu

By Augustine Akhilomen

Atlanta Olympic Gold medalist, Joseph Dosu has reiterated that Joseph Yobo’s participation in the Nigeria Professional Football League would add more value and glamour to the league.

A retired Yobo, who has represented the Super Eagles at the Africa Cup of Nations and captain the team to the 2013 tournament where the team lifted the trophy for the third time after beating Burkina Faso 1-0 in the final, would be expected to make a swift return to the league.

Despite not disclosing which particular clubs he’ll be playing for, there are reports that clubs like Kano Pillars, IfeanyiUba, Enyimba FC and Wikki Tourists are already lining up for his signature.

However, Dosu told Soccernet.com.ng that playing for any of the top clubs in the league doesn’t really matter but that his presence would attractive more media attentions and add more glamour to the league.

“I personally don’t think there is any crime if Joseph Yobo decides to come out of retirement and play for a club side in the Nigerian Professional League,” Dosu said.

“I sincerely believe that Yobo’s presence will motivate the domestic players and also add more glamour to the league.

“Mind you, Yobo is a brand and it will be a perfect idea if he plays for any of the team in the league, which will further improve the reputation of the league.”
