Manchester United, Real Madrid and PSG interested in signing Neymar from Barça |
Manchester United, Real Madrid and PSG have reportedly sent representatives to Brazil with a mission no other than to prevent Neymar from renewing his contract with FC Barcelona and to convince the player to join their club.
Neymar’s agent Wagner Ribeiro told Brazilian radio station Jovem Pan few days ago that there are three clubs willing to pay the release clause of his client but the player is willing to continue at Barça, the agent didn’t mention the name of any club however.
“There are three big clubs in the world who want to sign Neymar and are willing to pay the clause of 200 million euros to Barcelona. I cannot say anything else because it is a sensitive subject. I can only guarantee that Neymar is happy at Barça,” Wagner Ribeiro told Jovem Pan.
Now it seems these mysterious three clubs are Manchester United, Real Madrid and PSG after Catalan newspaper Mundo Deportivo reported that there are representatives from each of these clubs in Brazil to try and block the player’s renewal with Barça.
According to Mundo Deportivo, the contract renewal is very close to being signed, both Barça and
Neymar were on the verge of closing things up with an official announcement in July but advances from PSG cast some doubts over the contract as reports said Al-Khelaifi was willing to offer the player €50 million gross salary.
Manchester United are also ready to go very far for the player and have been interested in snapping him up since last season. Reports last year claimed club chief Ed Woodward travelled to Barça to personally offer €190 million for the player which was rejected. The red devils are not relenting as they’ve lacked a real leader since Cristiano Ronaldo and they see Neymar as the perfect choice.
It’s safe to say neither PSG nor Manchester United are bigger than Barça and joining Man United would mean the Brazilian sacrificing UEFA Champions League football. Real Madrid are also interested in the player, Barça will be 0% willing to let their player join their main rival, speculations over him being the next Figo have risen but the Catalan club are convinced Neymar won’t move to Madrid, a club he rejected to sign for Barça.
Personally, it is very clear that Neymar wants to continue at the club and FC Barcelona know this, but their conviction on the player signing his renewal are 100% placed on the player alone and not his agent.
Neymar still has a contract at Barça until 2018 but FC Barcelona want to extend it as they don’t want to take any chances with their “heir to Messi”, a reported extension until 2021 is on the card for the player who is currently on holidays.
