Jose Antonio Reyes and Sevilla part ways amicably

Sevilla have announced in an official statement that club legend Jose Antonio Reyes has left the club after his second spell with Unai Emery’s side.
The club officially announced the departure of the 32-year old who has been with them since 2012 and they thanked him for his numerous contributions to the successes of Sevilla recently where he helped the team achieve a record three consecutive Europa League titles in his second spell at the club.
The statement from Sevilla read: “Jose Antonio Reyes leaves Sevilla. He has ended his contract with the Nervion club, thereby ending his second spell as a Sevillista, without a doubt, the most successful on a collective level.
“In two spells he has been an icon for Sevilla. He has always excelled thanks to his extreme quality and commitment to the club of his life.
“He’s been one of the great emblems of this club if not the greatest.”
Reyes started his football career at Sevilla, spending 5 years in their youth system, he then spent another two years playing for the B-team before establishing himself as a first team player in 2000 when he spent four years before leaving for Arsenal. He had short spells with Real Madrid and Benfica and also played a lot for Atletico Madrid before returning to the club of his life in 2012. He’s made 253 appearances for them.
