Former Super Eagles captain, Joseph Yobo is on the verge of returning
to play active football in the Nigeria Professional Football League
(NPFL) as elite player for clubs like FC Ifeanyi Ubah, Kano Pillars, and
few others for the rest of the season.
The League Management Company (LMC) allowed foreign professional
players through the Elite Player Scheme to return home for a short stint
in the league, like former Super Eagles star Sani Kaita enjoyed about
few seasons ago.
According to report, over four clubs are interested in signing the
former Everton defender, who recently played his testimonial after
having 101 caps in the colours of the Super Eagles. FC Ifeanyi Ubah
proprietor is more eager to land the experienced defender, but with just
about 12 games to the end of the season.
Meanwhile, Yobo’s last featured for Nigeria at the 2014 FIFA World Cup finals in Brazil.
