Atletico Madrid interested in Gonzalo Higuain

Atletico Madrid are interested in signing Napoli striker Gonzalo Higuain this summer as they look to strengthen their forward line ahead of the upcoming 2016/2017 season.

According to Italian source Corriere Dello Sport the Madrid team are ready to offer €60 million + Kranevitter just to get the Argentine striker to wear the white and red of the Rojiblancos.

Atletico Madrid looks very likely to offload legendary striker Fernando Torres this summer and will be looking for a world class talent to replace him. The Champions League finalist see Gonzalo Higuain as the perfect man and are willing to sacrifice promising midfielder Matias Kranevitter plus 60 million euros to snap him up.

Coach Diego Simeone reportedly met with Atletico Madrid’s sporting director Gil Martin to start planning for next season and one of the transfer possibility discussed was a main striker and Higuain was mentioned to take that place.

Gonzalo Higuain finished top scorer in the Italian Serie A for 2015/2016 scoring 36 goals in 35 games. The former Real Madrid man joined Napoli for 40 million and Atletico Madrid look set to go extra miles to get him.
