Exclusive: Barcelona keeping tabs on Nigerian striker

Highly rated Nigeria starlet, Lateef Omidiji Jr. is being closely monitored by football scouts around Europe and FC Barcelona isn’t left out, SoccerNet Nigeria reports.

Omidiji Jr. currently plays for the U-14 team of the Netherlands second division side Dordrecht FC.

According to Lateef Omidiji Snr. , the 12-year-old’s father, numerous scouts have shown interest in the boy wonder and are watching him closely for when he comes of age.

“A lot of club scouts have been showing interest in Lateef,” Omidiji Snr. told soccernet.com.ng

“I spoke with a F.C Barcelona scout this morning, and he said they are interested in my son.”

Omidiji Jr. Is well known in Academy football around the Schengen area for his speed, technical skills and finishing prowess.

Apart from club sides, the USA and Nigeria have shown interest in the young striker, being an American by birth and Nigerian by descent.

However, according to Omidiji Jr’s Father the US Soccer have been more active in trying to get the youngster than Nigeria.

Another potentially great player slipping out of Nigeria’s hands.
