MFM FC of Lagos will host reigning Nigeria Professional Football League, NPFL, champions, Enyimba Int’l FC of Aba at the Agege Township Stadium this Wednesday in one of the top match day 16 fixtures.
Enyimba FC will be going into the game as favourites considering both team’s recent form. MFM suffered a 1-0 defeat in their last away match to Lobi Stars FC as Enyimba got a 2-1 win over Niger Tornadoes.
However, MFM striker, Stephen Odey, believes his team has all it takes to beat the two-time African champions on Wednesday.
“Yes, we have what it takes to beat Enyimba, we [MFM FC] play compact football and we play with teamwork. Yes, I’m sure we can beat Enyimba,” Stephen told soccernet.com.ng.
“I hope to play well for the fans, they should expect more from me and my team today.”
This would be the first time both teams would be playing an NPFL match against each other. Their three earlier meetings were friendlies that ended in draws.
