NPFL Week 13 Review: Pillars beat 3SC 6-0, as MFM lose away to Abia Warriors


Former league champions Kano Pillars demolished visiting Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) 6-0  within three points of league leaders Rangers International into 4th position on the log.
Emmanuel Edmund netted a hat-trick in addition togoals from Ifeanyi Matthew, Adamu Mohammed and Nafiu Ibrahim. Fresh from the CAF Champions League penalty shoot-out victory against Tunisian giants Etoile Sportive du Sahel in Sousse, Enyimba secured vital 0-1 away victory against Akwa United FC on Sunday at the Nest of Champions in Uyo.  Christian Pyagbara scored theonly goal in the 38th minute, as he finished off a counter-attacking move from Peter Onyekachi’s assist.
Abia Warriors leapfrogged IfeanyiUbah FC into second position with a 3-1 win over Lagos team MFM FC. Uche Ihuarula, Stanley Okoro and Ndifreke Effiong (penalty) got the goals for the home side while MFM got their consolation in added courtesy Chuks Kenedium.
Heartland needed a 55th minute strike from Ifeanyi Onuigbo to beat Sunshine Stars 1-0 at the Dan Anyiam Stadium in Owerri while Lobi Stars also won at home against Niger Tornadoes by the same scoreline‎ courtesy Anthony Okpotu’s added time penalty. Chinonso Okonkwo’s 80th minute equalizer was not enough for Rivers United, who were beaten 2-1 by hosts Plateau United.
Wikki Tourists thrashed visitors IfeanyiUbah FC 3-0 to move into the top 6 with a brace from Abubakar Lawal in addition to Godwin Obaje’s 30th minute opener.  At the Warri City Stadium, Warri Wolves FC  defeated Giwa FC 2-0 at home courtesy a 10th minute strike from Goodluck Onamado and a 29th minute John Odumegwu goal off an assist from former junior international King Osanga.
