Rangers International of Enugu have moved to the top of the table following a 2-1 win over visiting Nasarawa United in their Week 13 tie of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium on Friday in Enugu.
Bobby Clement put the Flying Antelopes ahead 23 minutes into the game, before Obinna Nwobodo doubled the lead from the edge of the box in the 56th minute. Seun Sogbeso reduced the tally for the Solid Miners, scoring from the penalty spot after Camara Azeez handled the ball in the box in the 76th minute.
The win takes Enugu Rangers above former leaders Ifeanyi Ubah FC into first place with 24 points while CAF Confederations Cup campaigners Nasarawa United stay in 12th spot with 15 points.
The Imama Amapakabo-led Rangers are looking good to win the title for the Enugu fans for the first time after 30 years of wait.
