Nigerian striker, Obafemi Akinwunmi Martins made his debut in the Chinese Super League for Shanghai Greenland Shenhua in their 1-1 draw with Yanbian Funde on Saturday.
Martins who recently joined the Chinese club from MLS side Seattle Sounders FC, came on in the 76th minute as replacement for Colombia midfielder, Giovanni Andres Cardona in the home encounter.
South Korean forward, Tae-Goon Ha opened scoring for Yabnbian Funde in the 54 minute, before Senegalese attacker Demba Ba scored the equalizer from the penalty spot for The Blue Devils in the 88th minute, as the match ended 1-1 at regulation time.
It was Obagoal’s first game of the season, but the 31-year-old Nigerian striker is looking promising to make impact for Shanghai Shenhua as the season progresses in China.
