Transfer Done Deals: Nigerian stars who switched clubs

The January transfer window slammed shut on the first day of February after a few Nigerian players had switched clubs.
However, Ahmed Musa’s eagerly anticipated move to the English Premier League failed to materialize after both Leicester City and Manchester United baulked at CSKA Moscow’s financial demands for the Nigerian skipper. Stoke City‘s out-of-favour striker Osaze Odemwengie could also not engineer his preferred move to France before transfer deadline day.

Emmanuel Emenike: Fenerbahce to West Ham United, loan
The retired Nigerian international striker joined English Premier League side, West Ham until the end of the season with an option of making the deal permanent.
Before his arrival at the Boleyn Ground, the Nigerian striker was at Al Ain FC on a one-year deal from Fenerbahce but it was cut short to facilitate his move to England.
Uche Ikpeazu: Watford to Blackpool, loan
Having been overshadowed by the exploits of compatriot Odion Ighalo, Karl Anthony Uchechuckwu Ikpeazu has completed his transfer from Watford to Blackpool. He will be with his new club till the end of the season.
The 20-year old Nigerian-born forward was a former Reading Academy player but joined Watford in 2013. He has also played on loan at Crewe Alexandra, Doncaster Rovers, and Port Vale.
Hakeem Odoffin: Barnet to Wolves, Undisclosed
17-year-old Hakeem Ademola Odofin made the switch in the January transfer window. The Nigerian-born defender only made two appearances for the Bees before joining Wolves for an undisclosed fee.
Abiola Dauda: Vitesse Arnhem to Hearts, loan
Nigerian-Swedish footballer, Abiola Adedeji Dauda has made the temporary switch to Scotland after a quiet spell in the Eredivisie.
The former Red Star Belgrade goal-getter banged 9 league goals in 23 games for Vitesse in the Dutch league to attract the attentions of the Scottish giants.
Michael Babatunde: Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk to Raja Casablanca
Super Eagles midfielder and ex-Heartland FC boy, has ended his ugly stint with Ukrainian club Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk.
The 23 year old left winger has signed a deal that will keep him in Morocco with the three-time CAF Champions League champions until 2019.

Akinjide Idowu: Nigeria Youth Academy to Portland Timbers 2, undiclosed
Former Nigerian under-17 star Akinjide Idowu has joined American club Portland Timbers 2 for an undisclosed fee.
The former Golden Eaglets and Flying Eagles midfielder signed a two-year contract with Andrew Gregor’s side ahead of 2016 season.

Izunna Uzockukwu: Amkar Perm to OB Odense
Super Eagles midfielder, Izunna Uzochukwu, returned to the Danish League just six months after leaving champions FC Midtjylland.
The 25-year-old who joined Russian side Amkar Perm on a free transfer after a successful spell at Danish Superliga returned to Denmark to team up with OB Odense.
The 25-year-old Uzochuwku played just nine times for Amkar Perm in the Russian Premier League.

Bartolomew Ogbeche: SC Cambuur to Willem II, undisclosed
The former Nigeria international completed a move to the Dutch Eredivisie side Willem II in a two-and-a-half-year deal after spending two years at SC Cambuur. The 30 year old forward who played for the Super Eagles at the 2002 FIFA World Cup in Japan/ Korea aged 18, has played for 11 clubs in his professional career in 15 years.
Ogbeche is a legend at Cambuur after becoming their all-time top scorer in the Eredivisie with 24 goals in 57 games.
Ikechukwu Uche: Tigres UANL to Malaga, loan
Nigeria international Ikechukwu Uche returned to Spain with Malaga on loan, only six months after signing a three-year deal with Mexican side Tigres UANL.

It is a quick return to La Liga for the 32-year-old striker, who left Villarreal in June 2015.

He was injured on his Tigres debut, in which he also scored, and has made no further appearances for the club.

Abdul Jeleel Ajagun: Panathinakos to Levadiakos, loan
Nigerian midfielder, Abdul Ajagun, will continue his career at Levadiakos on loan until the end of season after Panathinakos manager Andrea Stramaccioni revealed he was not in his plans.
The former U-17 and U-20 star joined Panathinaikos on a four year contract from Nigerian Premier League side Dolphins. He went to score on his debut against Platanias FC days later.
He was the second Nigerian player to feature for the club after Victor Agali. Ajagun scored ten goals in 67 appearances for Panathinaikos.
