Odemwingie is set to join French club Marseille |
Stoke City and Super Eagles winger Peter Odemwingie is set to join French club Marseille on loan, The Dailymail UK reports.
The 34-year-old has been linked up with agent Mark McKay of ExcelFoot who has a strong relationship with the French side.
The agent was instrumental in the deal that saw Dimitri Payet leave the French club for West Ham.
Odemwingie has six months left on contract with an option of another year but Stoke are happy to let the former West Brom player leave.
He started against Crystal Palace in the FA Cup defeat on Saturday but has made just seven appearances overall this season.
Meanwhile Marseille have been rebuffed in an attempt to sign Eder from Swansea and Yoan Goufrran from Newcastle but have completed the signing of Florian Thauvin on loan from the Magpies.
If Odemwingie does move, it will be his second foray in to the French League after playing for Lille between 2007 and 2010.
