NPFL Match Day 2: Wolves ambush Pillars, as Rangers tackle Plateau

After a record-breaking opening weekend, the Nigeria Professional Football League returns with seven top matches to look forward to.
Warri Wolves vs Kano Pillars
Warri Wolves host Kano Pillars with the intention of snatching all three points from their bags, after forcing Heartland FC to a creditable goalless draw last weekend. But Mai Su Gida are on a high. The former league winners humbled Rangers courtesy of a late Prince Aggrey strike.
Abia Warriors vs El-Kanemi Warriors
It is the battle of the Warriors when Abia meet El-Kanemi on Wednesday in Umuahia.
The hosts will look to build on the decent draw earned at Ikorodu United on Match Day 1 while El-Kanemi are looking for their first points of the 2015/16 season after they were embarrassed by Wikki Tourists in front of their fans last time.
MFM FC vs Rivers United
Giant-killing MFM trade tackles with the Port Harcourt-based side in what many expect to be a thrilling encounter. The Olukoya Boys have already shown their big game potential by thrashing Nasarawa United in Lafia in Week 1 and will look to add the scalp of Rivers United to their feathers.
However, Rivers United (formerly Dolphins FC) have shown their competence with a well-deserved one-nil win over current champions Enyimba.
Wikki Tourists vs Heartland
Wikki Tourists are truly on course to pick another maximum points against Heartland to add to the ones garnered on the road against El-Kanemi Warriors.
Heartland however are not smiling after firing blanks all game against Warri Wolves a few days ago.
Rangers vs Plateau United
Newcomers Plateau United travel to Enugu to witness the full fury of Rangers hoping not to be consumed by the anger of a side that felt hard-done conceding a late, late goal at Kano Pillars that robbed them a share of the points.
Rescheduled Matches

The Nigeria Professional Football League (NFPL), has rescheduled three Match Day 2 fixtures involving Enyimba, Akwa United and Nasarawa United.

This means Akwa United vs Ikorodu United, Enyimba vs Shooting Stars and FC IfeanyiUbah vs Nasarawa United will not take place this midweek.

Games to be played:
MFM FC vs Rivers United
Lobi Stars vs Sunshine Stars
Abia Warriors vs El-Kanemi Warriors
Wikki Tourists vs Heartland
Warri Wolves vs Kano Pillars
Rangers vs Plateau United
Niger Tornadoes vs Giwa FC
