Messi’s fifth Ballon d’Or, unbelievable achievement – Rooney

The Manchester United and England international forward has joined others on social media to describe as ‘unbelievable’ the Argentine playmaker’s haul of five Ballon d’Or, four of them won consecutively.
No other player has won four, with the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Marco van Barsten and Johan Cruyff the closest with three Ballon d’Or wins.
Twitter has scarcely stopped trending the topics “Messi”, “Ballon d’Or” since Messi claimed his record fifth title in Zurich on Monday night. Here are a few of the most popular tweets:
