Arsenal join Atletico in race for Watford Striker

Arsenal FC are preparing a whopping summer move to sign Watford striker, Odion Ighalo, following Borrussia Dortmund’s huge demands for their forward, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

The Gunners players have suffered series of injuries, and Arsene Wenger is much interested in buying a quality striker to help the quest of doing well in the Premier League in England.

Daily Mirror reports that Arsenal are much interested in luring the newly crowned African football king to the Emirates, but it’s believed that the Bundesliga giants want a fee of £60m for the pacey Gabon international. As a matter of fact, that means Wenger may have to look elsewhere, and the same report states that Arsenal have now turned their attention to Watford sensation Odion Ighalo.

The Nigerian red-hot striker has scored 14 goals in his 20 appearances for the Hornets in the current season in England, with his goals helping the new league comers to stabilised at the topflight, despite fears in some quarters at the commencement of the season.

However, Arsenal may find it difficult to convince Watford in selling Ighalo because of his scoring prowess for the club this season; but with right offer, the North London club may get right response by having the former Udinese striker at the Emirates.

At the same time, It is believed that the Gunners see Ighalo as a cheaper alternative to Aubameyang, and if he keeps up this scoring record, his value may as well rise.
