Friday Europe Round-up


As hostilities returns again in European leagues following the end of the International break, some Nigerians were in action on Friday night.

Some of these Nigerian exports were on the bench, some were not listed in match roster, while some tasted action in their respective Clubs.

SoccerNet Nigeria reviews the performance of Nigerian player abroad who were in action on Friday.

IN GERMANY

Leon Balogun was benched for the entire duration of the game as his side Mainz 05 lost 0-2 to Borussia Dortmund with goals scored by Marco Reus in the 18th minute and Armenia’s Henrik Mkhitaryan in the 82nd minute.

IN FRANCE

Elderson Echiejile was in action for 90minutes as his side AS Monaco were held to a 1-1 draw by Olympic Lyonnais.

IN BELGIUM

KAA Gent came from a goal down to beat Mouscron-Peruwelz FC 2-1.Gent youngster Moses Simon missed the match through illness.

IN DENMARK

Young forward Babajide David was on the bench for the entire duration of the game while teammates Paul Onuachu and talented Rilwan Hassan was not listed in match day squad as their Club FC Midtjylland defeated Randers FC 2-1.

IN NORWAY

Nigerian striker Marco Tagbajumi came off the bench in the 78th minute of the game to replace Marcus Pedersen as his side Stroemsgodset FC defeated Odd Ballklubb 2-1.
