According to reports, Super Eagles head coach Sunday Oliseh has listed Seattle Sounders striker Obafemi Martins for a recall to the national team for the World Cup qualifier against Swaziland in November after a two-year absence.
Complete Sports reports that the return of Martins, who has been scoring freely in the United States first-tier Major League Soccer is the highlight of the 24-man list Sunday Oliseh submitted to the Nigeria Football Federation.
Also listed according to a Complete Sport are Manchester City forward Kelechi Iheanacho and Hull City’s Sone Aluko as well as Hope Akpan, among other regular suspects like Carl Ikeme, Mikel Obi and Victor Moses.
Oliseh invited 18 foreign-based players that include Odion Ighalo, Efe Ambrose, Shehu Abdullahi, Leon Balogun, Elderson Echiejile, Sylvester Igbonu, Rabiu Ibrahim, Simon Moses and skipper Ahmed Musa.
Eight home-based players led by the Sunshine Stars of Akure duo of Ikechukwu Ezenwa and Tunde Adeniyi will be joined by ChimaAkas, Austin Oboriakpo and Gbolahan Salami.
