Kelechi Iheanacho hopped off the bench to score the game – winner for Manchester City in their 1 – 0 win over Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Saturday afternoon in the Premier League.
On 89 minutes and with the game between the early season pacesetters heading for a draw, the Nigeria youth international replaced Ivorian Wilfried Bony and it took him less than 30 seconds to open his account in an official game for The Citizens.
In stoppage time, Iheanacho would have bagged his and City’s second goal but his shot was inches away from the target.
Having spent only one minute on the pitch in his debut Premier League appearance against Waford before the international break, the 18 – year – old had barely two minutes of playing time before netting his maiden goal.
The Nigerian youngster is the 125th Manchester City player to score in the Premier League, according to OPTA.
