Spanish La Liga: Ronaldo, Messi Renew Rivalry

Real Madrid’s Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi of Barcelona will awaken their rivalry as the Spanish La Liga kicks off this weekend.
While the Argentine will star in his team’s title defence at Athletic Bilbao, the same team that thrashed them 5-1 on aggregate in the Spanish Super Cup, the Madrid giants will be welcomed by newly-promoted Sporting Gijon.[post_ad]

And of the two sides, Luis Enrique’s squad appears weaker, with Pedro and Xavi leaving last season’s treble-winning team.
According to BBC Sports, Rafael Benitez’s baptism of fire with the whites will be a much anticipated one as erstwhile manager, Carlo Ancelotti, was sacked for ending last season two points behind Barcelona and exiting in the Champions League semi-final.
Madrid’s superstar, Ronaldo, was recently linked with a move to the Major League Soccer, following reports that he had bought a house in the UnitedStates.
