Egwim’s season’s first hat trick shores up Dolphins Survival hopes

Ifeanyi Egwim hit the season’s first hat trick after 190 games to give 10 man Dolphins FC of Port Harcourta a 3-1 triumph over Nasarawa Utd FC of Lafia in a Match Day 20 game played at the Port Harcourt Civil Centre. It was a match Nasarawa started the strongest, taking the lead from a penalty after 13 minutes.
The hosts seemed to have their work cut out for them when their goalkeeper Rotimi Sunday rushed out to deal with a long ball but miscalculated the bounce of the ball and was adjudged to have handled the ball outside his 18 yard box‎ and the Referee showed him a straight red card in the 23rd minute.[post_ad]
To compound their problems, Dolphin’s centre back Cyril Oriaku upended L‎eonard Ugochukwu in their hosts penalty area in the 23rd minute and the Referee awarded a penalty to the visitors. That was the opening goal.
