Barcelona are set to bring Celta Vigo forward Nolito to the club if Pedro Rodriguez eventually leaves this summer for Manchester United. The former Barça star is seen as a perfect replacement for the Barça Number 7 and the Catalans are prepared to include young talent Alen Halilovic in the deal, reports Barcelona-based newspaper Mundo Deportivo.
Mundo Deportivo was the first source to link Barça with Nolito few weeks ago and with Pedro likely to exit the club this summer, the source have stated that Barcelona are preparing a bid for the 28-year-old that will see the winger join Barça on a 4-year deal in January with young Croat Alen Halilovic moving the other way in a loan deal this summer.
Reports few weeks ago suggested Barça have tabled an €18 million bid for Nolito but with Halilovic set to be part of the deal, a €14 million bid is what the Catalans will offer.
Halilovic played for the B-team last season and was supposed to be promoted to the first team this season. However, Luis Enrique promoted forwards Munir and Sandro. The midfielder is also targeted by Sevilla and a lot of English teams.
Barcelona are waiting for Manchester United to trigger Pedro’s €30 million release clause and club officials have recently stated their reluctance in letting Pedro leave.
Nolito, who is a very creative winger, would be a perfect replacement for Pedro. The Celta man netted 14 goals and provided 13 assists last season which earned him a national team call-up.
