Barcelona’s Bobby Adekanye Joins Liverpool

The Barcelona youngster has confirmed his move to Anfield and is expected to feature for their youth team

The 16-year-old has made his transfer to Liverpool public as the youngster took to his Instagram account to announce that he had signed a deal with the Merseyside club.

Adekanye spent last season on loan at PSV Eindhoven. The Dutch club had wanted to sign him permanently but Liverpool finally won the race for his signature and he will now link up with the club’s academy.

“I am very happy to sign for Liverpool” the youngster wrote on his Instagram page [adebob11] to officially confirmed his move.

Bobby Adekanye joined Barcelona youth academy in 2011 and was one of the players of the Catalan’s youth system (La Masia) who were deemed illegible to play for the club by FIFA over illegal transfer.

Bobby was banned from playing for Barca but would have been eligible for the Azulgranas by January 2016 when the ban would be over but he decided not to wear the Barcelona shirt.

Bobby Adekanye was born in Nigeria but was brought up in the Netherlands and joined the Ajax youth system. He is likened to Bayern’s Arjen Robben because of his agile style of play and of course he is a left foot nemesis.
