7 things you probably don’t know about Sunday Oliseh

The Nigerian Football Federation yesterday unveiled Sunday Oliseh as the new chief coach of the Nigerian national football team, the Super Eagles. This came few days after the NFF sacked former Super Eagles player and coach Stephen Keshi.

Here are 7 things you probably didn’t know about Super Eagles new boss.
1. Sunday Oliseh was born in Ojota Lagos in 1974; his father is a business man, while his mother is a staunch Catholic and a retired business woman.
2. He played for eight clubs during his career in Europe. They are Juventus, Ajax, Borussia Dortmund, Bochum, RFC Liege, Reggiana, FC Cologne and Genk.
3. He retired from active football with Genk in 2006.[post_ad]
4. He won four major trophies as a player at club level: a domestic cup double for Ajax in the 1997-98 season, KNVB Cup 1998-99 season and the Bundesliga title with Borussia Dortmund 2001–02.
5. He was turned down when he applied as a coach with Ajax and Borussia Dortmund in 2013.
6. After missing out on 2002 World Cup in Korea and Japan, Oliseh retired from international football in June 2002 after 12 years with the national team. He made his debut for the three-time AFCON winners in a 6-0 win over Ethiopia.
7. Some of his qualifications includes ,The U.E.F.A “PROFESSIONAL” Coaches Licence, the U.E.F.A “A” (ADVANCED) Coaches Diploma,
THE U.E.F.A “B” (BASIC) Coaches Diploma, and
Business Management Diploma In Belgium.
