Warri Wolves To Appeal Tejiri Ban

Nigerian club, Warri Wolves will launch an appeal against the hefty one-year suspension slammed on one of their goalkeepers, Rhiogbere Tejiri by Confederation of African Football CAF.
CAF had on Tuesday announced a 12-month suspension on the goalkeeper and even said it will forward its decision to FIFA apparently for more severe sanction.
Tejiri was alleged to have had a spat with one of the assistant referees during their 1-0 CAF Confederation Cup preliminary round match win away to MK Etancheite, May 1 at Mighty Tata Raphael Stadium, Kinshasha Congo.
Tejiri who was an unused reserve in the match, was said to have ran to the assistant referee and made an uncomplimentary gestures at him after striker Oghenekaro Etebo scored the match winner on 80 minutes, giving the Nigeria team a comfortable 3-1aggregate victory after a 2-1 first leg win in Warri two weeks earlier, prompting the assistant referee to draw the attention of the center referee who handed the player the marching orders.

CAF disciplinary committee on Sunday May 24 sat on the matter amongst other issues with the continental football governing body
making its decision public on Tuesday.
But Wolves official told Complete Sports Wednesday morning that they will look into the development and come up with an appeal, claiming that 12-month suspension is too much for a player who earns his living and fends for his family through football.
“We’ll appeal against the suspension. 12 months is too long a period for a player to be off the game. He has his career to protect and family to take care of,” offers Moses Etu, manager, media and publicity of the club.

“First, we’ll speak with the player and come out with a statement,” Etu added.
