Algeria meanwhile maintain their pole position on the log making the North African giant the best footballing team on the continent of Africa with 917 points. The Desert Warriors climbed one spot better than the month of April to be ranked as the 20th finest footballing nation in the world.
Current African champions, Cote d’Ivoire however sit second in Africa and 23rd in the world, despite defeating all comers to be crown African kings earlier in the year.
Ghana completes Africa’s top three to occupy the 26th position in the world with 833 points.
World champions Germany are 1st in the world, Messi-skippered Argentina are 2nd and Hazard’s Belgium remain in 3rd. Neymar’s Brazil occupy the fifth spot, Cristiano Ronaldo’s Portugal continue to sit in 7th while former world champions Spain find themselves in tenth.
England surprisingly continue their stay outside the top ten with a slot at Number 14.
Nigeria have amassed only 659 points, ensuring they stay on 45th in the world ahead of Cameroon, Egypt and South Africa.
