Zambia names Footballer of the Year 2014

In a magnificent gala
held at Moba Hotel in Kitwe on Friday; former Nkana Football Club now
Chipolopolo Striker Ronald Kampamba beat off the duo of Zesco United Defender
Nyambe Mulenga and Striker Jackson Mwanza to emerge the Zambian Footballer of
the Year 2014; the striker took home the award after a consistent season
scoring 14 goals despite Nkana failing to retain their Super League Title.  Zesco Striker Jacksom Mwanza won the golden
boot.
Other awards of the
night were Coach of the Year won by Zecso Coach George Lwandamina who beat the
duo Tennant Chilumba and Aggrey Chiyangi coaches of Power Dynamos and Zanaco
Club respectively; President’s award won by Zeco United Defender Nyambe
Mulenga, Patson Daka of Nchanga Raners who won the 2014 Young Player award and
Donashano Malama who won the most Disciplined Player Award and referee Gladys
Lengwe who won the Best Referee of the Year Award.

The Zambian Footballer
of the year award sponsored by MTN is done every year to honor the best in Zambian
football in the following categories: Footballer of the Year, Super League
Scorer of the Year, Zambian Young Player of the Year, Most Disciplined Player
of the Year, Coach, Referee and Assistant Referee of the Year
