Barcelona duo Andres Iniesta and Ivan Rakitic join Atletico Madrid’s Koke as the three finalists for the LFP’s ‘Best Attacking Midfielder of 2013/14 award, which will be announced at the ‘2014 LFP Awards Ceremony’on 27 October.
The trio led their respective teams to the top of La Liga and won over fans and critics alike with their skill and vision with their performances last season.
Despite not winning any major trophies in a down year for the Blaugrana, Andres Iniesta created seven assists and added three more goals to lead Barcelona to second place in La Liga, just a point behind Atletico Madrid.
Rakitic became the face of Sevilla last season, recording 12 goals and 10 assists in 34 La Liga contests, numbers that ultimately led his team to European competition for the second straight year and earned the Croatian a big-money move to Barcelona this past summmer. He was whoscored highest rated midfielder in La liga last season.
Koke looks to be the front-runner of the nominees after the 22-year-old recorded 12 assists and chipped in six goals to lead Atletico madrid for their first La Liga title in 18 years.
