According to reports from Herald and Times sports, it is understood that Celtic have signed Nigeria-eligible midfielder Bosun Lawal. He is to be unveiled this week after putting pen to paper on a three-year deal worth £120,000.
Lawal is the second player of Nigerian descent to join the Scottish club this summer after Osaze Urhoghide.
Celtic fought off interests from Premier League clubs like Norwich, Fulham and Chelsea. With his talent, he even attracted offers from Serie A clubs.
The former Watford prodigy is 18 years of age, and it does look like a decent deal for both sides as Lawal is a robust midfielder who can also play at the heart of the defence.
It could be quite pivotal for them as they look to reclaim the Scottish League title, which they relinquished to Glasgow Rangers.
For Bosun, it’s a great environment to grow as a young player as the pressure in Scotland is not as high as in England.
The Midfielder has been likened to Abdoulaye Doucoure. Bosun, who is of Nigerian descent, has played for the Ireland youth teams but hasn’t featured in any senior team game.
