A couple of Super Eagles stars that include Maduka Okoye have been reacting to the horrific injury Francis Uzoho suffered in Nigeria’s 1-1 draw against Brazil at Singapore’s National Stadium last Sunday.
The AC Omonia goalkeeper was stretchered off in the second half of the encounter after he landed badly on his leg while trying to deal with a cross.
The latest setback comes at a time when he is getting his career back on track, but Uzoho has revealed he will come back stronger, while his replacement, Maduka Okoye has sent in his wishes.
The Fortuna Dusseldorf II goalkeeper who made his international debut in the game expressed his delight at finally donning the Green and White jersey, but also wished Uzoho a speedy recovery even though they are rivals. The 20-year-old said on Twitter he was delighted to play for the country and he will continue to work hard.
Glad to have made my debut for Nigeria 🦅!
It’s a dream come true playing for my beloved country 🇳🇬.
Now it’s time to work even harder!
Wishing my brother @Uzohof a speedy recovery 🙏🏽
