Spanish La Liga club Sevilla are keeping tabs on Barcelona forward Ansu Fati as a potential replacement for injured Super Eagles star Chidera Ejuke, Soccernet.ng reports.
Ejuke has been one of the best performers for Sevilla despite their dismal performance in La Liga this season. The Super Eagles star has registered one goal in nine appearances but he ranks as one of the best dribblers in the League.
Unfortunately for Ejuke, two weeks ago, he sustained a nasty hamstring injury that will keep him out of action for at least three months. And that is a big miss for Sevilla as they do not have much quality on their wings.
In order to make sure that Ejuke’s absence is not felt, Sevilla have started making plans. And according to Orgullobiri, they are looking to sign Fati from Barcelona.
Fati has struggled badly at Barcelona for the past two seasons. He was even sent out to English Premier League club Brighton to rediscover his form, but he did not impress much.
This season, he has not gotten a lot of game time under new Barcelona coach Hansi Flick, and it does not look like that will improve soon.
To help Fati improve and regain his form, Barcelona would be wiling to let him leave on loan. And when Ejuke returns in January or February, both of them could help Sevilla.
