Super Falcons midfielder Ayinde Halimatu has issued a passionate call for unity and support as the Nigerian women’s national football team prepares for their decisive Olympic group stage match against Japan, Soccernet.ng reports.
The Super Falcons have faced significant criticism from parts of the Nigerian football community following their heartbreaking losses to Brazil and current world champions Spain.
Frustrated by the ongoing negative commentary, the FC Rosengard player has emphasized the importance of collective morale ahead of the crucial showdown.
“Stop the bad-mouthing and give the Super Falcons all the support they need today. One love. Let’s give everything today, mates!” Ayinde wrote on her social media page.
Ayinde, who picked up an injury just days before the 2024 Summer Olympics, expressed her disappointment at missing the tournament and gratitude for the support she received.
“With a heavy heart, I announce I won’t be part of the Super Falcons for the Olympics. I’m deeply grateful to FC Rosengård and my teammates for their support and love. Best of luck to my fellow Super Falcons. I’ll be cheering for you and will return stronger. Go Super Falcons!!” she earlier wrote.
Despite the challenges, the Super Falcons of Nigeria have a chance to progress to the next round of the competition as one of the best third-placed teams if they secure all three points against Japan.
Work from home and earn a respectable $60k a week, which is amazing considering that a year ago I was unemployed in a terrible economy. I always give God praise for honouring me with these rules, and now it’s my duty to practise anticipatory compassion and share it with everyone. Likewise, GOOD LUCK.
