Former Super Eagles and Borussia Dortmund midfielder, Sunday Oliseh, has heaped praise on Spain’s two wingers after they emerged victorious in their EURO 2024 clash against Italy last night, Soccernet.ng reports.
Luis de la Fuente’s men were on the front foot for most of the game last night at the Veltins Arena in Gelsenkirchen, but it was an own goal from Riccardo Calafiori that made the difference for Spain on the night.
La Roja’s wide men, Nico Williams and Barcelona’s Lamine Yamal put on a scintillating display, taking on the Italian defenders all night, and showcasing their technicality and footballing skills.
16-year-old Lamine Yamal was withdrawn with nineteen minutes left on the clock, while Nico Williams hit the woodwork before he came off with almost ten minutes left to play. After the game, the 21-year-old Athletic club winger went home with the man of the match award.
