Real Madrid player, David Alaba made an appearance in Afrobeats superstar Davido’s newly released music video, Soccernet.ng reports.
The 31-year-old, who is of Nigerian descent, has been sidelined due to an injury he sustained during Real Madrid’s clash against Villareal, temporarily halting his on-field contributions.
Meanwhile, the football star recently featured in the music video of Davido’s hit song “Away”. Alaba shared the screen with fellow notable footballers, including teammate Jude Bellingham and Atletico Madrid’s Memphis Depay.
The music video captures moments from Memphis Depay’s lavish birthday celebration which took place in February.
Several football stars including Alaba and other public figures gathered in Spain to honor Depay. Davido, who was also in attendance, performed at the celebration.

Despite being born to a Nigerian father, Alaba plays for the Austrian national team as he was born in Austria and his mother is Austrian.
Interestingly, the Real Madrid defender’s initially hoped to play for the Nigerian national team. However, this dream was cut short due to stringent eligibility rules by Nigerian football officials.
In spite of his experience with the Nigerian football authorities, Alaba remains proud of his Nigerian roots and never fails to identify as a Nigerian whenever the opportunity presents itself.
