Taiwo Awoniyi transfer: Nottingham Forest fuel exit talk with new signing plans

Super Eagles striker Taiwo Awoniyi could be on his way out of Nottingham Forest in the summer, as they are looking to sign Bournemouth striker Evanilson, Soccernet.ng reports.

Awoniyi has endured a difficult campaign with Nottingham Forest this season. The 27-year-old striker used to be the first-choice for the Tricky Trees, but his constant injury problems gave Chris Wood to usurp him and stamp his author on a starting XI place following his consistent brilliant performances.

As such, they are looking to fortify their squad to cope with the tight schedule. And according to TBR Football, they are planning to sign Evanilson from Bournemouth. The Brazilian arrived from Porto last summer, and he has contributed nine goals and four assists in 24 Premier League appearances.

If they succeed in sealing the transfer this summer, it means that Awoniyi could be on his way out of the City Ground too. The Super Eagles star has been linked with West Ham previously, but nothing came out of the speculations.

Unfortunately for him, his injury problems make him a less enticing signing. In fact, he is currently out with a calf injury and may not even play again this season.

If Awoniyi fails to recover and starts playing regularly, no other Premier League side would be willing to sign him. And he might be forced to sign for a smaller club or stay at Nottingham Forest, where he will he the third-choice striker. The Super Eagles star still has two years left on his contract at Nottingham Forest.
