Super Eagles: Who tops Nigeria’s goalscorer chart this weekend?

Although the weekend is far from over, the Super Eagles players are already showing outstanding performances for their clubs, Soccernet.ng reports.

This shows how Nigeria’s attackers are getting more attention around the world, as many Super Eagles forwards keep scoring in Europe’s top 10 leagues.

Everything looks promising for the Super Eagles—from Turkey to England to Germany—despite recent international setbacks.

Victor Osimhen, recently linked with a move away from Galatasaray, has netted 21 goals in 24 league games, totaling 29 goals in 33 matches for the Turkish giants. This has presented him as one of Africa’s most valuable strikers.

Although earning just 17 minutes in Bayer Leverkusen’s goalless draw against Union Berlin, Victor Boniface could do little.

Regardless, the bullish forward has scored 8 goals in 18 Bundesliga appearances and is tipped to become a long-term fixture in Nigeria’s attack.

Meanwhile, the 2024 CAF Player of the Year, Ademola Lookman, playing a second-striker role at Atalanta, has notched 13 goals in 25 Serie A appearances.

New Super Eagles boy, Tolu Arokodare, has had a strong season with 17 goals in 30 games for Genk in Belgium. In the near future, his goal-scoring ability is expected to add depth to Nigeria’s centre-forward options.

Also flying the Super Eagles flag high in England is Alex Iwobi, with 8 goals in 31 games for Fulham, who leads the Nigerian top scorer charts alongside Paul Onuachu.

The Super Eagles will be hoping to build a team that can deliver when they march to Morocco to battle for their fifth AFCON trophy, and also as they vie for their 2026 World Cup tickets.

Eric Chelle has a lot more work to do in selecting his best legs among the top goal poachers in the world’s top 10 leagues who are doing outstandingly well.
