“Drop 10%” – Boniface reacts after boy sold his gifted boots to Rwandan player for $100

Super Eagles striker Victor Boniface has reacted hilariously after a Nigerian boy revealed that he sold the Bayer Leverkusen star’s gifted boots to a Rwandan player for $100, Soccernet.ng reports.

The boy, who had attended Nigeria’s 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Rwanda—a game the Super Eagles lost 2-1—revealed in a video shared by journalist Toyosi Afolayan that Boniface handed him his boots after the match.

However, due to hunger and financial difficulties, the boy was forced to sell the pair gifted to him by the Leverkusen forward to a Rwandan player for $100.

Reacting to the clip, Boniface commented under Brila FM’s post, jokingly asking people to help him find the boy so he can get a percentage from the sales.

“Abeg, make una find this boy for me. Make he drop 10% of the money ooo  [In English, he said “Please, someone should help me find this boy. He should give me 10% of the money.”]

The Leverkusen forward didn’t stop there. When photojournalist Sulaiman Adebayo, known as Pooja reshared the video, Boniface jokingly added:

“I for give am jersey ooooo, but this guy fit go sell am again. If I give am money, he fit use am buy jersey too.” [In English he meant, “I would have given him a jersey, but this guy might go and sell it again. If I give him money, he might just use it to buy a jersey too.”]

The boy’s story has sparked attention on social media, with many enjoying Boniface’s light-hearted response.
