“One week left” – Sevilla President Orta hints at Iheanacho loan move following Akor Adams signing

Sevilla President Víctor Orta has provided a significant update on a potential loan move for Super Eagles forward Kelechi Iheanacho, Soccernet.ng reports.

The 28-year-old forward has been heavily linked with a move from Sevilla following his subpar performance since joining the club after the expiration of his contract with Leicester City.

To add fuel to the fire, the recent signing of his compatriot, Akor Adams, has further raised questions about his imminent exit, temporarily or permanently.

Speaking to the media, Orta revealed that discussions are underway with the Nigerian international, who is reportedly evaluating three offers for a possible move in the final week of the transfer window.

“There is one week left, and I think there are three offers. It’s a matter of the player choosing his best option for the next six months,” Orta stated.

He also acknowledged that expectations for Iheanacho’s performances had been higher, though the forward’s quality remains undisputed.

Orta further hinted that the Nigerian is eager for more game time, making a loan move a viable option.

“We all expected a higher performance from him. That has nothing to do with his quality, and there is interest from other teams. I believe he wants to play more, and we’ll see what happens until Monday.” he added.

The Super Eagles star has been previously linked with West Ham United, West Bromwich Albion, Las Palmas, Getafe CF, among other clubs.

With just days left in the January window, all eyes will be on Iheanacho’s next move, as Sevilla prepares to reshuffle their squad for the remainder of the season.
